Information Regarding Importing to the United Kingdom

The rules regarding what can be imported into the UK depend on the age of the car:

* Any car over 10 years old can be imported. It will need to pass an MOT like any other car.

* Cars less than 10 years old and made before 1997. These will need an MOT and pass the SVA test. This is a test to see if the car is suitable for use in the UK.

* Cars manufactured from December 31st 1996. If over 3 years old these will need an MOT and pass the ESVA. This is similar to the SVA but is more stringent and cars will need a 'model report' to be imported.
